The horses are definitely feeling the spring change. They are frisky and playful. I happened to catch this very sweet cuddly moment between the baby of the pasture (age2) and a very tough guy. I was slightly less enamored with them a bit later when they all took off and tried to bring my horse with them. While I was on him.
This is Ninja the kitty living up to his name. I zoomed in pretty close but he is actually about 6 feet above my head perched above the horse stalls. He enjoys sleeping on horses.
This is where Cutter the horse lives. It is one of the places that feels like home, and more than that it is a community of sorts. I felt kind of like an outsider here for a while and wondered how to break into the group. Everyone was always nice but it always just ended with a hi how are you. It finally occurred to me that they weren't necessarily going to come to me and that I needed to break out of my shell to meet them. I know, not exactly rocket science. I started by talking to the kid group. We bonded over the kittens. That kind of paved the way into the grown up group. I still feel like there are people I would like to get to know better and be able to ride with but I am very happy with the friendships I have made.
We succumbed to the call of the Playstation 3. Brian had been wanting one for a while. I was finally pushed over the edge by Katamari. It is maybe the most wonderful video game ever created. You push a ball around that collects things. Food, cats, dinosaurs, buildings. Just wonderful.
I had to take an American short stories class in college, and I don't know if it was the Professor, but some of those short story authors have extremely strange ideas. The trees have buds which is very exciting. They also have leaves left over from fall which is kind of sad. All of which brings me back to O. Henry. (See? I had a point with my short story intro!) He wrote a story called The Last Leaf. It's an odd, slightly morbid story. But by FAR the weirdest story we read was about a depressed woman who finally becomes convinced that she is part of the wallpaper in her room. Creepy and weird.
Sometimes I don't like Wednesdays. I have my foster greyhounds Saturday to Saturday. Wednesdays are typically the day I get the call about arranging the drop-off at the forever home. I know they aren't mine and that they aren't here to stay. My heart has yet to figure that out. This is DG Venessa.
Ok this photo is kind of cheating. It's the only picture I took this day. I took it to send to a friend who is getting married. I bought these place card holders long long ago. They were kind of expensive but they went on 50% sale so I knew they were meant to be mine. I could probably fill a couple of weeks of blog entries on great things I bought on 50% sale that are still in boxes!! Anyway, they have sat unused ever since. I think I bought them for a wedding shower I hosted. I still love them and hope to use them someday.
Oh. If you could kindly ignore the spot on my floor that would be great.
A gift certificate to Lake Park Bistro is always a crowd pleaser. At least when I am the crowd it is. A lovely dinner of medium rare baby cow with a taragon cream sauce. Apparently beef is the way to my heart. It is also the way to Cat's heart as is shown in this photo. She thinks she is stealthy. She is not.
I am probably obsessed with my cats. But I can't help it! They are so spectacularly adorable. His paw is over his eyes and he is peeking at me with such disdain. So adorable.
